La Torta di Elisa
A family recipe from Elisa

A delicious Italian cake recipe.
- 2 eggs
- 125 g butter
- 400 g flour
- 200 g sugar
- 16 g baking powder
- 0.5 cup cocoa
- a little milk
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Melt butter. Add mixed dry ingredients (except cocoa). Clump together.
Place half the mixture in a tin, press into base. Cover with a layer of something tasty like jam or Nutella (without sugar).
With the remaining half of the mixture: add cocoa and a little milk (this is optional, depending on whether cocoa is about, and whether it tastes good). Crumble over the cake; covering all the previous layer. (Large and small clumps of dough are no bad thing.)
Bake for 45 minutes (an old oven, so more like 35 with a new one).
When cold, sprinkle with icing sugar.
